It all started during a card game between friends and neighbors in June last year in Cusano Milanino.
Liliana, Laura and Laura, united by the passion for walking and the desire to do something to clean up their city of waste.
The idea is to try plopping, a new idea born in Sweden a couple of years ago and now reproduced in different parts of the world, which combines jogging with cleaning the environment and the collection of polluting waste: we arm ourselves of sneakers and gloves and black bags, and while walking you do good to nature or to your city.
So the three neighbors started meeting weekly to do outdoor activities and clean up the environment and started posting their photos on social media, and decided to create a “Walk & Collect” group.
Thanks to which more and more inhabitants of Cusano have joined the initiative, driven by the enthusiasm of the organizers and the desire to be together.
After many months of lockdown, but the desire is also to clean up the streets that in these months, be even more polluted than usual.
There are also masks and gloves abandoned on the street to the other types of waste that are around, which as the participants in the initiative testify, through photos and posts on the dedicated facebook group, find themselves collecting everything from cigarette butts from plastics, litter, food and drink wrappers, up to car tires.
The idea of these 3 friends did not stop there, many people liked it so much and found the collaboration of the municipality of Cusano Milanino, the Legambiente city club and the Sorriso Association, who joined together to support the extension of the project not only to the group of friends and neighbors, but all citizens, through the creation of the “Eco 2021 Project”.
