DONATE A BOOK, YOU CAN STAY FOR FREE. FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF MACCHIAGODENA, A VILLAGE OF MOLISE, IN THE PROVINCE OF ISERNIA, THE IDEA TO RELAUNCH TOURISM AND CULTURE

The initiative comes from Macchiagodena, a mountain village in the province of Isernia, which is part of the network of “Reading villages” and hosts its national headquarters in its Lombard castle.

Offer free stays, make room available in Bed and Breakfast and Farmhouses. A poetry book, a novel, a children’s book … any type of volume is valid.

The project is called “Genius Loci” and the departure is scheduled for the end of June, the slogan is “Bring me a book and I’ll give you my soul”.

The project aims to rediscover this beautiful mountain village and help restaurateurs, bars and local producers, moreover it also wants to make known the local territory, the culture and the beauties that Molise has to offer.

The books that tourists will donate to the city must be deposited in the reading square in front of the Castle, in the book tourists are asked to leave a thought about their stay upon their arrival, explaining why they have chosen the village, and at their departure tell about the experience they have lived.
